Character Assembly for "Responsibility"

Friday at 10:45 a.m. we will have our monthly character assembly to highlight the important character traits we are teaching our students. This month we are focusing on "responsibility".  All month we have been talking about what responsibility means and what does it look like to be responsible. For example we explain that being responsible means that we are accountable for our actions.  Mrs. Loomis' 3/4 class will be hosting this months' assembly.  Every class will be honoring those students who have most demonstrated this trait to receive the character award for the month. Parents/families are welcome to join us. Please come out to support the achievements of our students. Help us encourage the development of these positive character traits throughout the year by talking about them and applying them at home.
Thank you.

Fruity Fridays are back!

We just love this healthy snack idea our school council is making available to our students!  Every Friday starting this Friday at recess,  children can purchase a fresh fruit snack such as fruit kabobs for $2. All proceeds go to the school of course but the real benefit is encouraging healthy snack alternatives and promoting our healthy school.  Hope you can have your children participate.

Mental Health Week

It is Mental Health week throughout the region to bring awareness to the importance of supporting the mental health of our students. Mental health is as important as physical health and needs the same attention. We need to focus on supporting a positive mental outlook in our children. Teaching them to have a growth mindset helps to reduce anxiety and increase resiliency and the ability to take risks.
Home and school must work together to help provide a safe and positive environment for all children. Mental health week is every week!
